Actor Kim Seon-ho, who temporarily suspended his activities last year due to controversy over his private life, will return through a theater stage play. Many are curious as to whether the public will change their minds about him after seeing him return and carry out his acting activities again.
Kim Seon-ho will appear in the play “Touching the Void”, which will open at Art One Theater 2 in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul on July 8th. “Touching the Void” is based on the true story of Joe Simpson and Simon Yates who climbed the alpine-style ice wall on the western side of the Ciula Grande in Peru, where no one dares to climb in 1985.
Kim Seon-ho was cast with actors Shin Sung-min and Lee Hwi-jong in the role of “Jo,” a young mountaineer isolated on the snowy mountain due to a distressing accident. Kim Seon-ho has gained experience in the theater industry before expanding his career to broadcasting since his debut in 2009 with the play “New Boeing Boeing.” His return to the stage this time contains his will to return to the beginning of acting and start over.
Kim Seon-ho, who was on a successful strike with dramas such as “100 Days My Prince,” “Startup,” and “Hometown Cha Cha Cha,” was directly hit by the controversy over his private life. He stopped all activities after being embroiled in allegations that he urged his ex-lover to abort their baby. Since then, many acquaintances have expressed their support for him after his chat log with his ex-lover was revealed, but he has not been seen for a while.
Since then, he has confirmed his screen debut with director Park Hoon-jung’s new film, “Sad Tropical,” and filmed in and out of Thailand, but he decided to appear in a play before the release of the movie. The first performance starring Kim Seon-ho was sold out early on July 9th, and not only that day but also until August 15th, all the performances starring Kim Seon-ho are sold out, making people realize his ticket power.
Kim Seon-ho apologized to his ex-lover after the controversy last year and apologized to his fans in May, saying, “I’m so sorry and sorry for making everyone going through such a hard time just because of this lacking person.” Still waiting for his return, fans are cheering and supporting him, and attention is being paid to whether he will be able to win the hearts of the public again and make a winning move through his careful return from stage play to movie.
