Kim Seo Hyung, “I don’t think ‘The Glory’ Park Yeon Jin can catch up with Shin Ae Ri of ‘Temptation of Wife’”
Actress Kim Seo Hyung showed strong confidence in her acting skills.
Kim Seo Hyung guested on the broadcast of MBC FM4U’s “Muzie and Ahn Young Mi’s Two O’Clock Date Radio” on April 11th.
Throughout Kim Seo Hyung’s filmography, the role of Shin Ae Ri in the drama “Temptation of Wife” is the most outstanding. During the radio show, one listener expressed the opinion that “Temptation of Wife” Shin Ae Ri and “The Glory” Park Yeon Jin look similar then asked Kim Seo Hyung which role she would like to play, between Park Yeon Jin and Moon Dong Eun, if there were to be a middle-aged version of “The Glory”. In response, the actress said, “I think Shin Ae Ri is on a higher level”, adding “I’ve just watched a small part of it (‘The Glory’) but I think she (Park Yeon Jin) can’t catch up with Shin Ae Ri”, showing pride in her own character.
Ahn Young Mi then commented, “I want to see them fight. I want to see Park Yeon Jin and Shin Ae Ri fight”.
However, Kim Seo Hyung responded, “I think I could do both characters, Park Yeon Jin and Moon Dong Eun, at the same time”, adding “After all, isn’t Moon Dong Eun coming back for revenge? She has both good and bad sides, so I think I could do it all.”
They also talked about Kim Seo Hyung’s other representative work, “SKY Castle.”
Revealing that she waited to watch each episode when the drama was broadcasted, Ahn Young Mi, “It’s not easy for an actor to enjoy heyday twice or to digest a different kind of powerful character. How was it for you?”. Kim Seo Hyung replied, “In fact, I believed that I would do well. I just had that feeling”.
When Muzi asked if it was difficult to play the angry character all the time, the actress replied that it was more difficult to keep the slicked-back hair than maintain the angry state.
Kim Seo Hyung shared, “The slicked-back hair gave me a severe headache. It would have been much easier if I had long hair, but at the time, my hair was short. I had to slick back my hair strand by strand. Although it did not lead to hair loss, my hair actually started to fall out”
Two weeks later, the actress told the director that she wanted to undo her hair. However, she couldn’t do it because of the setting of the drama.
Despite receiving huge love for her strong character, Kim Seo Hyung felt difficult because she had not yet met a work that matched her real personality. She said, “I like laughing, talking, and singing karaoke. Because of my job, I just enjoy it enough, but it feels so hard when I get home. After finishing ‘SKY Castle’, I cried after going home because I felt so frustrated“, revealing her feelings at that time.
