Kim Ok-vin Shows Affection For ‘Arthdal Chronicles’ Series, “I Would Love To Make a Cameo Appearance In Season 3”

Actress Kim Ok-vin expressed her feelings after the grand finale of the “Arthdal Chronicles” series

On the morning of October 25th, Kim Ok-vin had an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and talked about tvN’s drama “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun”.

“The Sword of Aramun” is the follow-up season to the 2019 drama “Arthdal Chronicles” and it recently ended on the 22nd after airing episode 12. Kim Ok-vin starred in both seasons as Tae Al-ha, one of the main characters.

Regarding her feelings after challenging a fantasy drama, Kim Ok-vin shared, “I thought ‘We did it’. My performance may be lacking, but the writer, the director, and other actors worked very hard to complete such an experimental work. This genre may be new to everyone but I hope they will continue talking about the drama later on”, adding “I loved ‘Arthdal’ very much. I feel like I’m breaking up with someone I love right now”.

After talking about memorable scenes, the actress also mentioned the open ending. Kim Ok-vin said, “If the next story is produced, it will not be about Tae Al-ha’s side. Tae Al-ha and Tagon’s stories already ended in Season 2. However, as Season 1 character Moo-baek (Park Hae-joon) made his appearance in Season 2, I think I would love to make a cameo appearance if there is Season 3.” She added, “The original plan of Season 2 was the preparation for the battle against the people who destroyed Remus. In Season 3, they may come to destroy Arthdal following Remus”.

Kim Ok-vin also expressed affection for her character Tae Al-ha, saying “Tae Al-ha is the 4th favorite character in my filmography”, adding “She’s a villain who assisted both Eunseom and Tagon. Playing such a villain really helped me relieve my stress. It was so much fun and I wanted to take on another villain role properly”.

The actress confessed that her biggest concern is facing a turning point in her life as a middle-aged actress. She said, “I’ll be in my 40s and 50s soon, but I want to continue acting and I’m worried about how to grow more and create new images”, adding “That’s why I’m watching works of senior actors these days”. Kim Ok-bin looked back on her career and explained why she always picked difficult projects, saying “I’m not doing it on purpose. I chose them because they’re interesting”.

Lastly, Kim Ok-vin thanked viewers for watching and supporting “The Sword of Aramun” as well as the “Arthdal Chronicles” series. She promised, “I will continue to greet you all with good dramas and movies and show better acting performances.”
