Kim Min Jae mentioned the kiss scene with So Joo Yeon in “Dr. Romantic 3” that recently ended.
On June 18th, Kim Min Jae had an interview following the end of SBS’s “Dr. Romantic 3”.
“Dr. Romantic 3” depicts the story of doctors against the background of a shabby provincial stonewall hospital. The final episode of “Dr. Romantic 3” recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 16.8% and a peak real-time rating of 19.3% according to Nielsen Korea.
In the drama, Kim Min Jae played Park Eun Tak, a responsible and righteous nurse. Kim Min Jae mentioned that his mindset was different from the previous seasons. He explained, “A lot of time has passed, and the character Eun Tak has also aged. I tried to show his improved aspects and portray it as if I was coming back as a solid pillar.“
Kim Min Jae also made changes to his appearance for Season 3. He said, “I tried to show a more masculine appearance. This season, I was in the best shape, and there was a scene where I had to take off my clothes, so I worked out hard.” He added that he gained 4 kilograms.
Regarding the love line with Yoon Ah Reum (So Joo Yeon) and the happy ending, Kim Min Jae expressed satisfaction, “We fought (in the drama) to achieve a happy ending, and I think we got one.”
Talking about his chemistry with So Joo Yeon, Kim Min Jae said, “I have really good chemistry with the lead actress. We match well personally and as acting partners. While shooting, we joked about whether a kissing scene would come up. It felt strange. It was a kissing scene after 32 episodes. It was funny and enjoyable.”
Kim Min Jae talked about Yoo Yeon Seok’s comeback as Kang Dong Joo, “It felt great. When we filmed the scene of meeting again, it felt like going back to the Park Eun Tak from Season 1. Even when I read the script, it was a touching moment.“
Regarding the possibility of Season 4, Kim Min Jae said, “The cast has been hoping for Season 4 since the wrap-up party. Every time we meet, we keep asking for Season 4. As a fan of Dr. Romantic, I really hope Season 4 will come out.”
Kim Min Jae added, “Even if I don’t appear in it, there are a lot of discussions about it. I would like to see a Dr. Romantic spin-off and for the series to continue. It depends on the writing and directing, but just like when we didn’t know there would be Season 2 during Season 1, and the same for Season 3, perhaps we’ll have to wait for about three years.”
