ALPHA DRIVE ONE member Kim Geon Woo has addressed recent allegations of so-called “FD power abuse,” as his agency WakeOne released an official statement clarifying the situation.
The controversy first surfaced online earlier this year when a now-deleted post claimed that a staff member working as a contract FD (floor director) at a broadcasting station had been subjected to inappropriate behavior by a rookie idol. Screenshots of the post continued to circulate, fueling speculation that Kim Geon Woo was involved.
On April 9, WakeOne confirmed that the incident in question took place prior to the idol’s debut during a content filming session. According to the agency, Kim Geon Woo was unaware that his microphone was still on when he expressed dissatisfaction using inappropriate wording.

The company emphasized that the remarks were not directed at any specific individual and were made in the form of a private mutter. However, it acknowledged that the language used was inappropriate regardless of intent, issuing a formal apology.
WakeOne further revealed that Kim Geon Woo apologized directly to the production staff at the time, and the matter was resolved on-site through communication. The agency explained that the delay in releasing an official statement was due to the need to verify facts as additional claims continued to spread online.
In addition, the company strongly denied other circulating allegations, stating that they are untrue and urging the public to refrain from spreading unverified information.

As for his activities, Kim Geon Woo will temporarily halt promotions. WakeOne stated that the idol is currently reflecting on his actions and has decided, in agreement with the agency, to take time for self-reflection. He will not participate in upcoming schedules, including planned activities and a fan concert.
As a result, ALPHA DRIVE ONE will continue promotions as a seven-member group for the time being. Previously recorded broadcasts and pre-produced content may still be released as scheduled.
The agency concluded by promising to improve its artist management system and communication processes, as well as to strengthen internal education and support to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The situation has once again highlighted ongoing discussions around idol conduct and staff treatment within the entertainment industry, with both fans and the public closely watching how agencies respond to such controversies.
