On April 8, the group’s agency WakeOne released an official statement confirming that the allegations surrounding Kim Geonwoo’s comments were true. The company also announced that the group will continue promotions as a seven-member lineup for the time being.

The controversy reportedly stems from a pre-debut content filming set, where Kim Geonwoo was unaware that his microphone was still on. During that time, he allegedly expressed inappropriate complaints about the situation or staff. The agency clarified that the remarks were not directed at any specific individual but admitted they were inappropriate under any circumstances.
