ZE:A members are active on TV as actors. Im Si-wan recently starred in Coupang Play’s “Boyhood” as Jang Byung-tae and received favorable reviews for his natural dialect acting and lively comedy acting.
In addition to Im Si-wan, Kim Dong-joon is playing King Hyeonjong, the 8th King of Goryeo, in KBS 2TV’s weekend series “Korea–Khitan War”, while Park Hyung-sik appears as plastic surgeon Yeo Jeong-woo in JTBC’s “Doctor Slump”. The two ZE:A members are proudly facing each other as the main characters of popular weekend dramas.
Airing episode 23 on February 3rd, “Korea–Khitan War” recorded a viewership of 9.7%. It is said that viewers could not take their eyes off the screen because of the dynamic developments. Through this drama, Kim Dong-joon gained recognition for his improved acting skills. He also won Best Couple and Top Excellence Award at the 2023 KBS Drama Awards, proving his performance and showing off his teamwork with actor Choi Soo-jong, who plays Gang Gam-chan.
Park Hyung-sik is catching up with Kim Dong-joon. He is captivating viewers with his rom-com chemistry with actress Park Shin-hye in “Doctor Slump”, which aired the first episode on February 27th. Reuniting with Park Shin-hye 11 years after “The Heirs”, the two “romcom masters” join hands to tell the story of doctors facing burnout and the biggest slumps in their lives.
Park Hyung-sik takes on the role of a plastic surgeon who is perfect in all ways, from his skills to visual and personality. However, this character faces a critical turning point when a mysterious medical accident happens, and Park Hyung-sik increases viewers’ immersion with his emotional lines. Immediately after the airing of episodes 1 and 2, the drama made headlines and even topped the chart of Netfix Korea. Starting off well with a rating of 5.1%, “Doctor Slump” also entered the top rankings in 11 countries, including Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.
