Kim Da Mi talks about returning to the big screen after a long time with new movie “Soulmate”
Actress Kim Da Mi expressed her feelings about making a movie comeback after a long time since “The Witch”.
The new movie “Soulmate” production briefing was held at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul at 11 a.m. on February 3rd. Kim Da Mi, Jeon So Nee, Byun Woo Seok, and director Min Young Geun attended the event.
Kim Da Mi shared, “Attend a production briefing and meeting all the actors after a long time, I’m feeling quite awkward.”
She continued, “I had a happy time filming ‘Soulmate’. I’m also very excited as we can finally show you the movie.”
This is Kim Da Mi’s first movie after 5 years since “The Witch” (2018). She made a special appearance as Ja Yeon in “The Witch Part 2. The Other One” last year.
Regarding her whereabouts, Kim Da Mi said, “I’ve been doing various acting projects without rest. I’m filming another drama and movie.”
The actress then introduced her character Mi So. She said, “She looks like a free-spirited person on the outside. However, this character hides her inner pain. Miso is a cute girl who tries to live a good life”.
About her collaboration with “Soulmate” director Min Young Geun, Kim Da Mi said, “I got to know the director through the movie, but I think I gained a good friend because he treated me nicely like a friend”, adding “While working together, director Min discussed with me a lot. We shared our ideas, worries and tried various things”.
The actress continued, “We always tried to communicate with each other and were on good terms all the time. The director took great care of me so I really enjoyed the filming”.
Director Min Young Geun of “Soulmate” gained recognition from the public and movie critics for his delicate directing skills through the movie “Re-encounter.
“Soulmate” depicts the story of two friends, Mi So (Kim Da Mi) & Ha Eun (Jeon So Nee), who recognize each other right from their first meeting, and Jin Woo (Byun Woo Seok) sharing everything feelings together, from happiness to sadness, excitement, and longing.
It will premiere on March 15th.
