Kim Byung Chul joined talks on filming unforgettable scenes, the ending, and his plan after “Doctor Cha”.
Referring to the scene where he was slapped by Uhm Jung Hwa, Byung Chul said, “I think I can answer that I felt pain. Actually, it didn’t hurt that much. I don’t remember exactly but I don’t think it was a one-time shoot”.
However, he affirmed, “We finished the cake scene in one shooting”, adding, “A lot of cream came in through my nose, and there was a scene where I blew your nose”, drawing laughter. Nonetheless, the actor expressed, “I was lucky enough to have this much cake (on my cheeks), which was something that no one expected”.
When asked of how he felt about the collaboration with Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul said, “Seeing the courage to take the initiative and the way they produce excellent results, I thought that the people who play a central role are different. I was so touched, grateful, and honored to have acted with her”.
In addition, Kim Byung Chul also revealed his opinion on the ending of “Doctor Cha”. The actor elaborated that, because Cha Jung Sook is at the center of the drama, the ending would focus on the two-way impact between her and those around her. Moreover, when evaluating the ending, the actor said, “There are parts of the ending that are unrealistic and yet so realistic that it’s up to the viewers’ interpretation”.
Finally, before closing the interview with the actor, he said, “I think I learned about the aspects of ‘Doctor Cha’ that I didn’t even know while observing the viewers’ reactions”. In addition, the actor promised to put the support he received to good use and would return with another good work in the future.
