IVE’s fans are demanding KBS to issue an apology following an improper content.
Recently, a video of LE SSERAFIM’s Music Bank performance edited with viewers’ comments (a trending edit in Korea), titled “The group who surprised the editor by suddenly becoming a 5-member group”, was uploaded to KBS’s global channel “KBS WORLD TV”. The video quickly came under criticism as fans noticed its thumbnail and chosen comments inside were disrespectfully dragging IVE.
Specifically, “IVE is a piece of cake” was written on the thumbnail. And what fueled fans’ anger the most is some comments in the video. Fans lash out at KBS’ selection of comments praising LE SSERAFIM that unnecessarily brought up IVE and even shamed their visuals. Some comments read, “I could only see Wonyoung and Yujin from IVE, but I love how every LE SSERAFIM member is pretty. Their beauty is working hard”, “I thought IVE is the only group that all the members are pretty but…”
KBS has now made this controversial video private. IVE’s fans are demanding KBS to give an explanation and apology for making such tasteless content to promote LE SSERAFIM and disrespect IVE. Some fans are also calling KBS “ungrateful” given the fact that IVE’s Wonyoung is currently a fixed MC for Music Bank.
