“Just Suzy being Suzy”… Shows off her enchanting voice in ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’

Suzy appeared in ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’ for the first time in 9 years.

On May 27th, KBS2’s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’, with the guest appearance of Suzy was broadcast. Suzy visited ‘Sketchbook’ with music director Kang Seung Won. Suzy previously came to ‘Sketchbook’ with Miss A members in 2013 and singer Cool in 2012, so this marks her return to the program after 9 years.

Suzy expressed her excitement to appear as a singer in front of a live audience. She said, “It’s been a long time since I stood in front of an audience. I feel nervous and excited because it’s been a while since I appeared on a show.”

Suzy appeared in this week’s ‘Sketchbook’ because of her participation in Kang Seung Won’s album. Suzy recalled receiving an offer to work with Kang Seung Won, saying, “It was such an honor. I was out of my mind at the time. I was going to politely turn down the offer due to my filming and album preparation, but after I heard the song, it was so good. It suited me. So I wanted to meet him and do it”.

Suzy performed ‘Holiday’ live to the guitar performance of music director Kang Seung Won. Then, director Kang Seung Won introduced the song ‘Because I Love You’, which he worked with Suzy, and said, “It is a song that contains clumsy emotions and feelings because of love.”  Suzy said, “It felt like a very delicate tiger was calling out to me when I heard the demo. It is rough, yet delicate and soft, making it heartbreaking.”

Suzy also mentioned her upcoming drama comeback and future album. She said, “I think the drama that I finished filming will be released soon. I’ve also been working on music steadily, and if an album comes out within this year, I want to appear in ‘Sketchbook’.”
