KBS On Lee Young-ae Taking After Lee Hyo-ri As MC Of “Red Carpet,” “Can’t Confirm, Still Discussing”

After the end of “Lee Hyo-ri's Red Carpet,” will Lee Young-ae become the new MC?

On March 7th, an official from KBS 2TV’s “The Seasons-Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” told Xsports News regarding the end of Lee Hyo-ri’s season, “the production team is in talks.”

“Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” is the first program Lee Hyo-ri has taken on as a solo MC since her debut, drawing attention for every episode.

“The Seasons” is the first KBS late-night music program to introduce a different method called “annual project.” With this format, the show has had four seasons with four MCs taking charge of a season named after them.

Following “Park Jae-beom’s Drive,” “Choi Jung-hoon’s Night Park,” and “Long Day, Long Night with AKMU,” “Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” was aired. Since the show has the season system, it seems that KBS is naturally discussing the end of the current season and its successor.

Last month, it was reported that actress Lee Young-ae will take over as the MC for this show, which will become her first talk show since her debut. At the time, a KBS official told Xsports News that the next program was not confirmed and that the planning stage was under discussion. “It is not a follow-up to “The Seasons-Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet,” he added.

The next program is expected to be a show that invites celebrities from various fields such as sports, politics, and society as well as entertainment industries, similarly to shows such as “Kim Je-dong’s Healing Camp” and “You Quiz on the Block.”

Some say that KBS is trying to invite Shohei Ohtani, a superstar of the Major League Baseball (MLB), as their first guest. “It is not a follow-up to The Seasons and Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet,” he said, adding to expectations that it will become KBS’s flagship talk show amid the news of the end of Lee’s show.
