Kate Winslet admitted feeling “not comfortable” doing a sex scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in front of her ex-husband
Kate Winslet recalled her filming experience with Leonardo DiCaprio in “Revolutionary Road.”
In an interview with “The Mirror,” Kate Winslet mentioned she had an “uncomfortable” experience in filming for “Revolutionary Road” with Leonardo DiCaprio. The reason for the supposed discomfort was that she had to do a sex scene with Leo in front of her husband at the time, Sam Mendes, who was the director.
She admitted, “It was the element of, ‘OK my husband is over there.’ That was a bit weird.”
Nonetheless, her partner Leo still showered her with praise for her professionalism that allowed them to finish the scene quickly.
“We were actively looking for something to do together. It felt really natural. She’s my homie,” said the actor in praising his co-star.
In talking about how their close relationship affected the filming of difficult scenes, DiCaprio said, “We can push the boundaries with each other. We use the fact that we’ve been such good friends through the years to our advantage. There’s definitely a comfort level that we have between us and we challenge each other as actors.”
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio first acted together in the classic hit “Titanic” and have kept a strong bond throughout their career. At present, the duo still maintains a close friendship. Meanwhile, Kate and Sam Mendes divorced in 2010. They had a 10-year-old baby boy named Joe.
