According to a recent report from Yahoo Japan, 64-year-old actor Kataoka Kamezo died in a tragic fire in Adachi Ward, Tokyo. The incident occurred in a three-story building where the first floor functioned as a confectionery workshop, while the second and third floors served as living quarters. Kataoka Kamezo had been visiting his close friend one of the two brothers living in the home when the fire broke out.

At the time of the fire, the older brother managed to escape from the second floor unharmed. However, Kataoka and the younger brother were found unconscious from carbon monoxide poisoning and were rushed to the hospital. Tragically, Kataoka passed away shortly after arriving at the medical facility. His friend has regained consciousness and is currently in stable condition.

Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the fire. The blaze was first reported around 4:00 a.m. on November 24, after a neighbor spotted heavy smoke coming from the third floor. Firefighters arrived promptly and managed to extinguish the flames after about two hours. Approximately 30 square meters of the living area were destroyed in the blaze.
