Kang Mina’s contract with Jellyfish expires, to become Kim Tae Hee’s colleague? 

The future activities of Idol-actress Kang Mina is drawing attention after her exclusive contract with Jellyfish Entertainment expires.

On the 28th, Jellyfish Entertainment officially announced the expiration of their exclusive contract with Kang Mina, stating, “After 7 years, Kang Mina’s exclusive contract with our company has officially ended as of today (June 28, 2023). While the journey with Jellyfish and Kang Mina concludes here, we will cherish every moment we spent together with Kang Mina.”

The agency also added, “We express deep gratitude to Kang Mina for being with Jellyfish for a long time and sincerely support her, who will continue to perform better in the future. Please show unwavering love and support for Kang Mina as she embarks on a new beginning.”

Meanwhile, prior to Jellyfish Entertainment’s official announcement, news of Kang Mina’s contract expiration had already been reported, along with rumors of her transfer to Story J Company.

At that time, Story J Company stated, “It is true that we had a meeting with Kang Mina. We are positively discussing an exclusive contract.”

Story J Company is the agency of actors such as Kim Tae Hee, Oh Yeon Seo, and Seo In-Guk. As the idol-actress is discussing an exclusive contract with an entertainment company that specializes in acting, it was anticipated that Kang Mina’s full-fledged acting activities can be expected in the future.

On the other hand, Kang Mina started her acting career in 2017 by portraying a young version of Han Ye Seul in the MBC drama “Children of the 20th Century”. She then showcased her versatile acting skills in various genres, with roles in tvN’s “Hotel Del Luna”, KBS 2TV’s “Moonshine”, KBS 2TV’s “Café Minamdang”, and the segment “Convenience Store” in the movie “Midnight Horror: Six Nights”.

In 2016, Kang Mina gained attention after appearing on the Mnet survival show “Produce 101”, where she eventually debuted as part of the project group I.O.I. She later debuted with girl group Gugudan under Jellyfish Entertainment, but the group ended up disbanding in 2020.
