The talented actor Kang Ha Neul has never fallen short when it comes to versatility, and from “Moon Lovers” to “When The Camellia Blooms”, he managed to pull off totally contrasting characters. This June, Kang Ha Neul is returning with “Insider”, which adopts the action, thriller, and crime genres, also features top stars like Kang Ha Neul, Lee Yoo Young, Heo Sung Tae, and more. Top Chinese actress Fan Bing Bing will also make a cameo in the series.
Insider revolves around gambling – a constant social issue in Korea. Even in prison, gambling lines persist, taking advantage of human’s vulnerabilities and earning huge sums of money from these illegal deeds.
Therefore, to crack down on these underground lines, the police opt to use an “insider”, who will deeply infiltrate into enemy grounds and find out the truth behind their dark crimes.
In this thrilling K-drama, Kang Ha Neul assumes the role of Kim Yo Han, a judicial trainee. However, he has to enter prison due to gambling, and becomes an undercover agent who tries to unveil the deepest secrets of underground gambling lines.
“Insider” will be a complete contrast to Kang Ha Neul’s previous role in “When The Camellia Blooms”, as the actor has totally dropped his cute and positive image. The female lead character of “Insider” is portrayed by Lee Yoo Young, who has left a good impression for her acting in suspenseful legal dramas. Returning in “Insider”, Lee Yoo Young plays Oh Soo Yeon, a successful businesswoman who plots intense revenge. To avenge her mother, she builds her own financial empire and asks to team up with Kim Yo Han to overthrow the forces that govern the underground power. Oh Soo Yeon will be a solid support and an important ally of Kim Yo Han.
