K-Pop Big 4 Entertainment Companies’ Sales Comparison Over The Last 4 Years
As reported by Koreaboo, Korean media outlets recently dropped the total revenue reports of the Big4 K-pop entertainment companies: SM Entertainment, HYBE Labels, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment.
In 2019, SM Entertainment ranked 1st place thanks to NCT and EXO‘s world tours. The following year, the COVID-19 outbreak slowed the industry down, but HYBE overtook SM Entertainment in revenue, thanks to BTS‘s global success.

In 2021, the industry continued to face COVID-19 challenges, but in-person concerts resumed later in the year.
In 2022, HYBE’s sales were almost double of SM’s, thanks to the success of SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, TXT, as well as the successful debut of NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM. Meanwhile, YG and JYP achieved impressive sales with the popularity of BLACKPINK and Stray Kids, respectively.

For top-selling physical albums each year, BTS dominated the charts in all 4 years, followed by SEVENTEEN and EXO in 2019, SEVENTEEN in 2020, NCT in 2021, and SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids in 2022.
