K-dramas dominated Netflix Japan… “Occupy 8 positions in the top 10”

Korean dramas swept the top spots on Netflix in Japan, showing off the potential of ‘K-content’.

According to Flix Patrol, a site that provides global Netflix content rankings on the 29th, SBS’s drama ‘Business Proposal’ has topped the Japanese Netflix TV show category.

JTBC’s “Green Mothers Club,” which is currently airing, was ranked second, followed by tvN’s “Crash Landing on You,” which received great attention as the main cast – Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin recently got married.

The fifth place was tvN’s “Itaewon Class,” which was so popular that the remake “Roppongi Class” was produced in Japan. In 6th and 8th places, JTBC’s ‘Forecasting Love and Weather’ and tvN’s ‘Twenty-five Twenty One’, which ended on the 3rd, were named side by side.

The winner in ninth place was JTBC’s “Thirty, Nine,” which shone with a passionate performance by Son Ye-jin, Jeon Mi-do, and Kim Ji-hyun.

In the last 10th place, TV Chosun’s ‘Marriage, Love and Divorce 3‘, which is currently airing in Korea, rose to prove its hot popularity. With the exception of 3rd and 7th places, all of the top spots on Netflix in Japan are filled with Korean dramas.

Even SBS’s ‘Business Proposal‘, JTBC’s ‘Green Mothers’ Club’, and tvN’s ‘Itaewon Class’, which appeared in the top 5 of Japan’s Netflix Top 10 TV Shows are all K-Dramas that are loved by Japanese audiences.

Korean dramas are gaining popularity not only in Japan but all over the world. Many netizens cheered this achievement of the Korean film industry with comments such as “This is the power of Korean content” and “It seems that there are so many Korean dramas that are consistently received love from international audiences.”
