K-drama actors and actresses who became best friends after working in the same project

It’s a common case that Korean actors and actresses become close after working together, and this apply to both opposite-sex and same-sex couples. Below are some iconic friendships that were forged between same-sex celebrities after a common work.

Kim Se Jeong – Seol In Ah

Kim Se Jeong and Seol In Ah first met on the set of “School 2017”, before reuniting in “Business Proposal” and becoming the best of friends. If in “Business Proposal”, they play two best friends that go through thick and thin for each other, then the same also happens in real life. In fact, their chemistry together is so explosive that even their romantic partners in “Business Proposal” feel like “third wheels” at times.

Lee Jong Suk – Kim Woo Bin

Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin are now both top stars, and yet they have been friends since they were newbies with little to no popularity. In particular, the two actors met through the series “School 2013”, where they played former best friends that had a misunderstanding. As their two characters rebuilt a tight relationship, it seems that Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin also grew closer. In reality, Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin hang out so often that while Kim Woo Bin was on hiatus for cancer treatment, fans can still catch several glimpses of him via Lee Jong Suk’s SNS account.

Lee Jong Suk – Jung Hae In

It seems that Lee Jong Suk is an extremely friendly co-worker, seeing that he also turned another male co-star into his best friend. Having worked together in “While You Were Sleeping”, Lee Jong Suk and Jung Hae In formed an extremely close friendship in real life – a rather ironic thing considering how their characters were “love competitors”. A handsome guy next to another handsome guy – the sight of these two actors together is quite a visual feast for fans.

Kim Tae Ri – Bona

In “Twenty Five Twenty One”, Kim Tae Ri’s character Na Hee Do and Bona’s character Ko Yu Rim went from enemies to best friends. In real life, they skipped the enemies stage and went straight to besties, with Kim Tae Ri gaining an adorable “little sister”. In fact, they have grown so close that fans spotted Kim Tae Ri watching a concert of Bona’s group Cosmic Girls earlier this year, cheering so hard and having so much fun that security had to ask her to stop filming.

Gong Yoo – Lee Dong Wook

If in “Golbin”, the relationship between Lee Shin (Gong Yoo) and Wang Yeo (Lee Dong Wook) is considered one of the best K-drama “bromance”, then the real life relationship of Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook is no less iconic. The two even clicked so well that they would go to TV shows together, and exuded some rather hilarious chemistry.

Park Seo Joon – Choi Woo Sik

Park Seo Joon’s most popular friendship group is the famous “Wooga Squad”, which includes BTS V. However, before such a group started to form, there was Choi Woo Sik, who has been close to Park Seo Joon since day one. The two have known each other since they were no-name in the industry, and are so close that they would introduce friends to each other, forming a mutual “social circle”. They would also appear as “cameos” on each other’s project, and are known for being “handsome yet crazy” on entertainment programs.

Song Hye Kyo – Lim Ji Yeon – Yura

Song Hye Kyo always appears regal, cold, and untouchable, and yet the actress is actually very sociable. In fact, she’s popular to male and female alike, and also has close friends from both genders. Through her 2 K-dramas “Now We Are Breaking Up” and “The Glory”, Song Hye Kyo has become friends with the second female leads of both projects, played by Yura and Lim Ji Yeon, and has been spotted hanging out with both of them.
