On December 15, JYP’s new boygroup’s final debut members and team name “NEXZ” were announced in the final episode of “Nizi Project Season 2,” which was aired on JYP’s official YouTube channel and Japanese online video platform Hulu. The episode also ranked first in both the overall ranking and variety ranking on the platform, proving the public’s keen interest in the showand the new boy group.
The group name “Next Z(G)eneration” was created by JYP’s representative producer and judge Park Jin-young. It means that the members responsible for the next generation will gather to present good music and performances and open a new era. At the announcement of the debut lineup, Park said, “I hope NEXZ will open the future of the new generation,” and explained the reason for the group name.
NEXZ consists of Tomoya, Haru, Yuuki, Ken, Yu, Yuhi and Seita (final ranking order), who are recognized for their sincerity, combined with dance skills, singing skills, and star quality.
In the final episode, the final stage’s song was “Miracle,” a new song written and composed by Park Jin-young. 3RACHA’s Bang Chan, Changbin and Han, the self-produccing unit of Stray Kids, appeared as special judges and gave heartfelt reviews to the participants.
The final lineup of NEXZ wrapped up their journey on “Nizi Project,” saying, “We will continue to do our best to achieve our dream of becoming the best artist in the world. As you gave us a great opportunity, we will show you how we develop to meet your expectations.” Amid receiving great attention in Japan, NEXZ will appear as a guest on the Japanese terrestrial broadcasting program Nihon TV’s “Day Day” on the 18th.
