“Juvenile Justice” and other K-dramas whose Season 2 got canceled 

Due to various different reasons, the 2nd season for “Juvenile Justice” was canceled, and many other K-dramas also face the same fate. 

Despite garnering huge success in the first season, with plans for season 2, some K-dramas were not able to continue due to a variety of reasons. Below are some notable K-dramas with such unfortunate fates.

First aired in 2022 and featuring famous actress Kim Hye Soo, the Netflix series “Juvenile Justice” drew a lot of attention for its gripping script, quality cast, and garnered outstanding success. The drama was also named the winner for “Best Screenplay” at the prestigious Baeksang, proving its prestige.

However, while “Juvenile Justice” was originally scheduled for an additional season, Season 2 has been canceled for unclear reasons. Some audiences speculate that the theme of “Juvenile Justice” may be too sensitive, while others simply believe that there may have been schedule conflicts. 

“The World Of The Married”

Originally, there were plans for a 2nd season of “The World Of The Married“, and the drama’s opening ending might have been a sign of this. However, “The World Of The Married” season 2 will no longer be produced, and 2 special episodes were released to sooth the audiences. 

According to producers of “The World Of The Married”, they believe that an open ending is fitting for the drama. They also said that the stories of main characters Ji Sun Woo (Kim Hee Ae), Lee Tae Oh (Park Hae Joon), Yeo Da Kyung (Han So Hee), and Lee Joon Young (Jeon Jin Seo) has already concluded, so they wouldn’t want to drag things further. 

“The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won”

Epic drama “The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won” marks the return of broadcasting station KBS to historical dramas. The series, which features actor Joo Sang Wook, initially received great feedback, with ratings on the rise.

Unfortunately, the drama soon got entangled in an animal abuse controversy, where a horse’s legs were tied in order to film a scene. In the end, the actor was only lightly injure, but the horse died in pain, causing outrage among the public. 

As a result, “The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won” stopped airing for 3 weeks, with all future plans for it promptly canceled. The drama’s director, martial arts director, horseback riding team manager, and broadcaster KBS were all sent to the prosecution due to their violation of the Animal Protection Act.
