On the afternoon of December 16th, the online press conference for JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Snowdrop” was held with the participation of actors Jung Hae-in, BLACKPINK Jisoo, and director Jo Hyun-tak.

Set in Seoul 1987, “Snowdrop” tells the sad romance that goes against the times of a prestigious university student Suho (Jung Hae-in), who suddenly jumps into a women’s university dormitory, and female college student Youngro (Jisoo), who hides and takes care of Suho amidst the serious surveillance and crisis.

On this day, Jung Hae-in said, “I trust in the director and the screenwriter. More unpredictable developments appeared as I read the script. Then, I was convinced to join this project after meeting the director for the first time”, adding, “Taking on this character, I have to do many action scenes, so I prepared a great physical strength. I worked out a lot.”

Regarding the reason for casting Jung Hae-in, director Jo Hyun-tak said, “Jung Hae-in was the actor that I wanted to work with from the beginning stage of the production, so I sent him an offer but was rejected at first”, adding, “I tried to invite him again, and he finally agreed.”

Upon hearing this, Jung Hae-in explained, “I’m telling this just in case there might be misunderstandings. In fact, when I received the offer from the director, the schedule overlapped with the filming for ‘D.P’. I was thinking about it, but since the director and the production team were so considerate with their decision, I was convinced to join them in this drama.”

Meanwhile, director Jo Hyun-tak also talked about casting Jisoo, saying, “I didn’t expect a rookie actor to play Youngro, but the moment I met Jisoo, I immediately thought, ‘That person is definitely Youngro’. So I talked to her company and asked for her participation unconditionally.”
