Jisoo is set to headline a dopamine-charged romantic comedy as her character’s top star boyfriend is revealed to be Park Jae-beom in Netflix’s upcoming series Monthly Boyfriend.

Premiering on March 6, Monthly Boyfriend” follows Mi-rae, a webtoon producer exhausted by the realities of everyday life, who subscribes to a virtual dating simulation service that allows her to experience romance on demand. The title refers both to the series itself and to the fictional in-show subscription platform that offers customizable virtual boyfriends. Blending relatable workplace struggles with the fantasy of on-demand romance, the show promises heart-fluttering escapism.

Previously released trailers unveiled a star-studded lineup of virtual love interests who will cross paths with Mi-rae. Among them are Seo Kang-joon, Lee Soo-hyuk, Ong Seong-wu, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Hyun-wook, and Kim Young-dae, each portraying characters with distinct charms and romantic styles.

Newly released stills further heightened anticipation by showcasing the actors’ transformations into Mi-rae’s dream partners, as well as Kim Sung-cheol as her real-life ex-boyfriend, adding another layer of emotional tension between virtual fantasy and reality.

In one scene, Seo Kang-joon appears as Eun-ho, sharing a soft, campus-set moment with Mi-rae beneath fluttering cherry blossoms, evoking youthful first-love nostalgia. Lee Soo-hyuk takes on the role of Si-woo, a third-generation chaebol heir who sweeps Mi-rae into a glamorous, high-society romance, his cold perfection contrasted by an intense gaze directed solely at her.

Meanwhile, Ong Seong-wu transforms into a mysterious secret agent who appears before Mi-rae in her alternate professional life as a flight attendant. Lee Jae-wook plays a charismatic senior doctor, Lee Hyun-wook portrays a refined judge, and Park Jae-beom steps in as a top star, completing a dazzling lineup of suitors designed to quicken Mi-rae’s heartbeat.

The introduction of Kim Sung-cheol’s character as Mi-rae’s former boyfriend hints at a parallel storyline grounded in reality, raising questions about whether genuine love can outshine even the most perfectly curated virtual romance.

With its imaginative premise and ensemble cast, “Monthly Boyfriendis poised to deliver both comedic charm and swoon-worthy moments when it debuts on Netflix next month.
