Jessica faced criticism for allegedly refusing Chinese food, but her boyfriend and manager, Tyler Kwon, defended her eating habits.
Recently, there has been controversy sparked in China surrounding former Girls’ Generation member Jessica.
An anonymous source claimed that Jessica had refused to eat Chinese food during her promotional activities in China, and only ate Korean kimchi that was brought over from Korea. The source added that Jessica even complained that there was nothing to eat in China.
Despite the unclear source of the rumor, some Chinese media outlets still reported on it, leading to Jessica receiving a lot of criticism.
However, her boyfriend Tyler Kwon, who is also her manager, has since come forward to clarify the situation.
Tyler Kwon said, “Jessica loves foreign food. It’s true that she likes Korean kimchi, but she also likes hotpot. People don’t know Jessica. Apart from cucumbers, she can eat everything. There is so much fake news like this on social media, but people are making a big deal out of nothing.”
