Jeon Yeo-bin shared stories about “Glitch” and explained why she wanted to thank Park Eun-bin even though they have never met each other

Actress Jeon Yeo-bin talked about the challenges she faced during the filming of Netflix’s drama “Glitch”.

Jeon Yeo-bin, who recently appeared in Netflix new series “Glitch”, answered an interview at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of October 11th.

During the interview, Jeon Yeo-bin explained the story of the drama. The actress said, “‘The character Hong Ji-hyo was created with Jeon Yeo-bin in mind’, the writer said this during the Busan International Film Festival when the drama was screened. It was such an honor for me. The chemistry between the director and the writer was amazing. The writer said that his wife told him about her experience of seeing aliens so he developed that story into ‘Glitch’. Director Roh Deok had been planning to make a work about a woman meeting an alien even before meeting writer Jin Han-sae”.

Regarding the reason she decided to star in this drama,  “I was a fan of director Roh Deok, and working with her was one of the things on my wishlist. I also enjoyed watching the series called ‘Extracurricular’ by writer Jin Han-sae. It felt like a dream when I received the casting offer. I couldn’t wait to take on a new challenge with the two”. About her feelings when reading the script of “Glitch”, Jeon Yeo-bin said, “The script was amazing and I could feel that director Roh Deok would direct it well. I also wanted to try an experimental work with a dark color like this”.

Referring to her character Hong Ji-hyo, the actress said, “Jihyo believes that everyone has an alien in their heart. She didn’t want to get caught and tried to hide her secret because people may not fully understand her. She lived in the framework of an ordinary person. Ji-hyo could have lived like that if Si-guk hadn’t disappeared. The situation changed and I think it was when Ji-hyo’s justice and nature were revealed. From my point of view while acting, I can understand Ji-hyo”. Revealing the common things between her and Hong Ji-hyo, Jeon Yeo-bin said, “Ji-hyo and I are both courageous people. Ji-hyo doesn’t speak what’s on her mind, but I tend to explain myself well to others. I try to talk about my intention and express my gratitude for other people straightforwardly.”

The actress also mentioned her long-awaited collaboration with director Roh Deok, saying “Director Roh Deok doesn’t talk much. Her instructions were not long, but all the actors felt that she had become the plane for us to fly. I could feel that she recognized me as a colleague and wanted to work with me every moment. I was very touched”.

How about Jeon Yeo-bin’s appearance on the filming set? She shared, “I tried to be sincere and faithful. Because I could only stay in that moment once. There were times when my body was out of control, but I tried hard to balance myself. I recently like these words. That’s the meme of actress Park Eun-bin saying ‘What more can I do? I just have to make it happen’.I felt so grateful for that”. Jeon Yeo-bin said that the two had never met each other but she still wanted to thank Park Eun-bin for her wise words.

Referring to her chemistry with Nana, with whom she worked together for the first time through “Glitch”, Jeon Yeo-bin said, “In the drama, Ji-hyo and Bo-ra filled in the parts they needed for each other. I gave Nana strength when she was exhausted, and I received strength from her when I felt tired”, adding “Nana has done everything so well since her debut. I already watched her previous work. At the script reading, I already thought that she was the best person to play Heo Bo-ra”.

Lastly, when asked about the meaning of “Glitch” to her, Jeon Yeo-bin said, “The filming ended last Christmas Eve. Now that when I watch the drama, I feel like I’m on an adventure. I think I’ve changed myself and grew more after finishing this work”.

Meanwhile, “Glitch” tells about Ji-hyo (Jeon Yeo-bin), who can see aliens, following the traces left by her boyfriend, who disappeared out of a sudden, and approached the unidentified mystery with the help of her friend Bo-ra (Nana).
