Actress Jeon Yeo-been reflected on the ending of Genie TV’s Ms. Incognito and opened up about how she personally understood her character’s decision to donate a 4 trillion won inheritance.

In an interview held at a café in Gangnam on November 4, Jeon Yeo-been shared insights about playing her first-ever title role as Boo Se-mi (Kim Young-ran) — a woman who overcomes hardship and enters into a contract marriage with a terminally ill chaebol chairman. The deal promises her 4 trillion won if she successfully carries out his revenge plan.

“Young-ran donates most of the money and leaves overseas, only to return to Moochang a year later. Hye-ji (Joo Hyun-young) and Tae-min (Kang Ki-doong) get married, and Young-ran meets Dong-min (Jinyoung) at their wedding. There’s a line I love — when Young-ran trembles after turning in her mother to the police, Dong-min says, ‘Let’s go home now.’ For someone who’s never felt what home is, that line means everything.”

Jeon Yeo-been explained that her favorite scene symbolized the emotional healing her character finally experiences — finding comfort and belonging for the first time. “Even travel feels exciting because there’s a place to return to. When Young-ran came back to Moochang, I felt she had finally found a home for her heart and soul.”

When asked if she would also donate the massive inheritance like her character, Jeon Yeo-been laughed and jokingly said, “Of course, I’d take care of myself first.”

Then, becoming more thoughtful, she added: “But honestly, I understand her decision. She knew the chairman’s heart — he apologized to her, saying, ‘I’m sorry for using you as a tool.’ He saw her as a daughter. Knowing that, I think Young-ran gave what she could to those in need. I’d probably do the same if I were her.”

The actress also revealed she followed online comments closely after the finale, admitting one fan reaction stood out. “Someone wrote, ‘Young-ran is such a fox.’ But I think she was someone who fought smart — she had to win without losing anything. I understand her.”

Finally, Jeon Yeo-been expressed gratitude to the drama’s crew for enduring a scorching summer of filming. “It was such a hot summer. I’ll never forget the staff who ran under that blazing sun — every face is still in my memory.”
