On September 3 (local time), U.S. entertainment outlet Deadline exclusively reported that Jeon Somi will make her acting debut in the upcoming horror-thriller film Perfect Girl. She will star alongside Arden Cho, known for K-Pop Demon Hunters and Teen Wolf, and Adeline Rudolph of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Resident Evil fame.

Perfect Girl is described as a chilling mashup of Scream and Black Swan, following the psychological descent of a newly formed K-pop girl group teetering on the edge of fame — and something more sinister.

The film is set to begin filming on October 27, with plans to feature six original tracks. It is not yet confirmed if Somi or Cho will participate in the music production, but given their backgrounds, fans are hopeful.

Jeon Somi rose to fame through Mnet’s Sixteen and Produce 101 Season 1, where she ranked first and debuted in project group I.O.I. Following the group’s disbandment, Somi launched a successful solo career, releasing hits like Birthday, What You Waiting For, and Fast Forward.

Her transition from music to acting marks a major milestone — and positions her as one of the few K-pop idols to break into Hollywood with a significant role. Perfect Girl is part of the ongoing trend of K-pop and Korean culture influencing global entertainment, with Korean artists increasingly making their mark in international projects.
