‘Although I Am Not a Hero,’ starring Jang Ki Yong, Chun Woo Hee, Go Doo Sim, raises expectations for the cast’s chemistry.

JTBC’s new drama ‘Although I Am Not a Hero’ is a fantasy romance that follows a man with extraordinary abilities, though not considered a hero. It also tells the story of a woman whose life intertwines with a family of superhumans who have lost their exceptional abilities due to a common modern ailment.

Director Jo Hyun Tak, known for his exceptional direction in the hit drama ‘SKY Castle,’ takes charge of the directing. Writer Ju Hwa Mi, recognized for her delicate storytelling in works like ‘Marriage, Not Dating,’ handles the script. Additionally, Kang Eun Kyung, a trustworthy writer among the public for series like ‘Dr. Romantic,’ joins as a creator.

The spotlight is on the intriguing combination of actors Jang Ki Yong, Chun Woo Hee, Go Doo Sim, and Soo Hyun, who will add depth to the unique setting and maximize the charm of the characters.

Jang Ki Yong transforms into Bok Gwi Joo who suffers from depression and has lost his superhuman abilities. He can only slip back into happy moments from the past. Unable to change the past, he finds solace in reliving his own happiness. But a mysterious woman, Do Da Hae (Chun Woo Hee), appears before him, bringing change. Expectations are high for Jang Ki Yong’s return with his deepened acting skills.

Jang Ki Yong expressed his excitement, “I’m approaching this drama with half anticipation and half excitement due to the long hiatus. I will carry this pleasant excitement all the way to the end and deliver a good performance.”

Chun Woo Hee takes on the role of the mysterious woman Do Da Hae. She becomes involved in the peculiar cohabitation with Bok Gwi Joo (Jang Ki Yong), and the Bok family, each dealing with abilities lost to insomnia, binge eating disorder, smartphone addiction, and more. Known for transforming herself with each role, Chun Woo Hee captures viewers’ attention with the anticipation of what charm she will bring to this drama.

The presence of the “nation’s actress” Go Doo Sim adds to the trust in the drama. Go Doo Sim takes on the role of Bok Man Heum, a key member of the superhuman Bok family and possesses the ability of ‘precognitive dreams’ but suffers from insomnia. Bok Man Heum quietly lives with the burden of knowing that her ancestors were ultimately used and killed. She has been accumulating wealth using her precognitive dreams despite his son Bok Gwi Joo’s criticism, who believes he should use his abilities for the greater good rather than personal gain. When Bok Gwi Joo, suffering from depression, was hoping to find a little happiness, the mysterious Do Da Hae appears, disrupting the balance.
