Former fromis_9 member Jang Gyu Ri has maintained her popularity and will be the main character in upcoming K-drama “Player 2”
According to an article published by E-Daily on January 27th, Jang Gyu Ri was cast as the female lead in the OCN series “Player 2”.
Here, Jang Gyu Ri is expected to make another acting transformation by taking on the role of Jay, the best driver in the series.
It is known that “Player 2” is a sequel to the 2018 OCN drama “Player”. In this heist action series, the best of each field, such as scamming, driving, hacking, and fighting, gather to find dirty money illegally collected by the rich. During its air, “Player” recorded a viewership rating of 5.8% and received great love.
In season 1, Krystal Jung appeared as the female lead, but in season 2, Jang Gyu Ri will take over the baton and work alongside famous actor Song Seung Heon.
On the other hand, Jang Gyu Ri, who made her debut in the entertainment industry as a member of girl group fromis_9, signed an exclusive contract with Just Entertainment in August 2022. Ever since, she has been active as an actress, and recently solidified her acting presence with the role of Tae Cho Hee in the SBS drama “Cheer Up”.
Meanwhile, “Player 2” featuring Jang Gyu Ri is scheduled to begin filming in March of this year.
