According to insiders, IU’s annual income is about 35 billion won, and she plans to devote herself exclusively to filming “You Have Done Well” for the next year. It is also said that the high appearance fee is decided in consideration of IU’s high popularity, influence, and future global marketing.

“You Have Done Well” is a drama that unfolds the adventurous life of the mischievous rebellious child Ae Soon (played by IU), who was born in Jeju in the 1950s, and her relationship with the diligent and quiet Gwan Sik (played by Park Bo Gum). It is written by Lim Sang Choon, who is behind the success of “When the Camellia Blooms”, and directed by Kim Won Seok, who produced “Misaeng”, “Signal”, and “My Mister”, drawing attention from the production stage.

As “You Have Done Well” is a period drama set in Jeju Island, a large-scale production budget is expected to be invested, and it is speculated that the total production cost will exceed 60 billion won.

Regarding IU’s appearance fee and production costs, however, the production company told OSEN, “We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to talk about the actor’s individual appearance fees and total production costs.”

Meanwhile, Netflix told OSEN, “It is a confidential clause in the contract between the two parties, so we cannot tell you. Please understand,” adding that they cannot officially disclose such information.

On the other hand, IU is currently filming “You Have Done Well” with Park Bo Gum and promoting the upcoming release of the movie “Dream”, in which she co-stars with Park Seo Joon. With phenomenal successes in both singing and acting, there is growing interest in whether IU will be able to capture the attention of viewers worldwide with her first OTT venture, “You Have Done Well”.
