BLACKPINK Jisoo joins Taylor Swift and Adele as female soloists with over 1 million album sales in the first week

BLACKPINK Jisoo becomes the 3rd female soloist in 2020s to achieve 1 million copies sold within the first week of release.

Following the highly – anticipated solo debut, BLACKPINK Jisoo is enjoying great success in both album sales and digital achievements.

Prior to the release of “ME,” BLACKPINK Jisoo received more than 1.24 million pre-orders for her first solo album. After one week of sales, the singer recorded 1 million sold copies, according to statistics from Hanteo Chart.

This record helps Jisoo to join the league of Taylor Swift and Adele as the only female soloists in 2020s to sell more than 1 million copies in the first week.

“FLOWER” debuted at no. 63 on Apple Music Global Daily Chart, becoming the only K-pop solo artist to make this milestone this year. Moreover, “FLOWER” also entered at 6th place on Global Top Songs chart, with an impressive filtered stream in the first 24-hour period after release. This accomplishment set a new record for the highest figure of first-day streams for any given songs by a K-pop female solo artist.

On the music show “Show Champion,” Jisoo brought home her first ever trophy without any promotional activities in Korea. Currently, BLACKPINK is in the U.S. to prepare for their Coachella performance. Jisoo’s first promotional stage has been pre-recorded and will be broadcast on April 9th.
