ITZY Talks About Releasing Solo Songs, “Respect TWICE Seniors, Will Show Better Performances As Team”

On January 8th, ITZY held a showcase to commemorate the release of their new mini album “BORN TO BE” at Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. When asked if they would like to do solo activities, ITZY members said, “At this point, we will show you better performances as a group”.

ITZY’s new album “BORN TO BE” delivers a confident message about going forward in the wide world that unfolds in front of us as we want. Based on the story of “respecting and loving myself”, which is the group’s core music identity since their debut with “DALLA DALLA”, the group will convey a more challenging meaning of expressing oneself more freely and overcoming one’s limits.

In addition to the title song “UNTOUCHABLE”, this new album will also include b-side tracks such as “Born To Be”, “Mr. Vampire”, “Dynamite”, “Crown On My Head (Yeji’s solo)”, “Blossom (Lia’s solo)”, “Run Away (Ryujin’s solo)”, “Mine (Chaeryeong’s solo)”, “Yet, but (Yuna’s solo)”, and “Escalator”.

In particular, ITZY members showcased their musicality by directly participating in composing and writing their solo songs for the first time since their debut.

Releasing solo songs for the first time, ITZY members also shared their overwhelming feelings. Ryujin said, “I realized that it was really hard to fill a song with only one voice. It made me respect TWICE and other seniors who did solo activities even more. They’re so cool. When an opportunity to do a solo promotion comes, I would appreciate it so much, but for now, I want to focus on our group activities and show better performances as a team”.

Chaeryeong also added, “Actually, there was a time when I felt my shortcomings while working on a solo song for the first time. If there is a good opportunity that can help me improve my skills and grow more, I would like to try composing several more times”.

ITZY’s new album “BORN TO BE” will be out on all music sites at 6 p.m. today (January 8th).
