Islamic fans angrily demand an official apology from ENHYPEN Jake for wearing the “Allah” necklace

ENHYPEN Jake’s necklace recently caused a controversy, making Islamic netizens demand an official apology.

On January 23rd, ENHYPEN appeared on SBS “Inkigayo” and performed the song “Blessed-Cursed”.

On this day, Jake wore a big silver necklace that had “Allah” engraved on it. After the broadcast, many people criticized Jake, who wore the necklace, saying, “Make a proper apology”.

“Allah” is a word that expresses “One and only God” in Islam. There is a perception that it is a great disrespect when people of other religions use the word “Allah” to refer to their gods.

Regarding this, Islamic netizens criticized, saying, “Allah is one of the most important words in Islam”, “This is too rude”, “It is one of the most important symbols for Muslims” and “You need to apologize officially.”

In addition, netizens are using the hashtag “BELIFTAPOLOGIZE” to request an apology from the agency through Twitter.

Meanwhile, Jake’s group ENHYPEN released their first full-length repackage album “DIMENSION: ANSWER” on Jan 10th. They are actively promoting the title song “Blessed-Cursed”.
