“I want to bring Kai and Baekhyun with me” What MC Mong posted on Instagram right after the release of the transcript
It was claimed that singer MC Mong tried to recruit EXO members Kai and Baekhyun.
Ten Asia reported on July 18th that they obtained a transcript of what MC Mong talked about Kai and Baekhyun at a meeting with a number of entertainment industry officials.
The conversation was recorded around January last year. According to the transcript, MC Mong said, “I really want to bring Kai and Baekhyun with me. I’m working XX hard on it now. Then, wouldn’t I become number one?“
In addition, MC Mong explained why he wanted to recruit Kai and Baekhyun, and claimed that the exclusive contract between EXO and SM Entertainment was unequal.

Previously, EXO members Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin dramatically reached an agreement when trying to file a lawsuit against SM Entertainment for notice of termination of the exclusive contract and payment of settlement money.
At that time, SM Entertainment pointed out Big Planet Made Entertainment, where MC Mong was an executive director, as an external force, saying, “We have confirmed the existence of external forces who have approached our artists, delivering false information/misleading legal evaluations, and making unreasonable proposals so that our artists can ignore their exclusive contracts with our company and enter into contracts with them.“
MC Mong’s side explained, “MC Mong only has a personal friendship with Baekhyun as senior and junior in the music industry. He has not taken any action to recruit the artist using personal friendships. He only provided comfort to his junior who was struggling with company issues during a meeting that was a normal interaction. Furthermore, there were no inducements for any illegal activities mentioned by SM, and he is not in a position to do so.” SM Entertainment then made a stand that there was a misunderstanding about the involvement of third parties.
Meanwhile, MC Mong’s side expressed their position that they are “confirming” the contents related to the transcript.
