“I-LAND 2” Production Team Responds To Controversy Over PD Mistreating Minor Trainees

“I-LAND 2” production team revealed their position regarding the controversy over the disclosure of PD’s abuse of power

On March 10th, the production team of “I-LAND 2” released a statement, saying “We follow minor-related laws and guidelines within the Popular Culture And Arts Industry Development Act and prioritize the health and safety of the contestants”.

The production team also explained that the filming has been equipped with various systems to create a safe environment, provide necessary breaks during filming for all the trainees participating in the program, and make sure that all the staff entering the filming set follow the guides, such as paying attention to their words and behaviors towards the trainees.

They promised, “‘I-LAND 2’ production team will continue to do their best to protect the contestants and create a proper production environment in the future”.

Recently, the post exposing “I-LAND 2” PD’s poor behaviors on the filming set written by a staff member spread widely in online communities. In the revelation, the staff member accused the PD of mistreating minor trainees, forcing staff to get off work early in the morning, etc. This person also revealed the poor filming environment without proper heaters in the cold season.

Expected to air in the first half of this year, “I-LAND 2” is a girl group debut project jointly produced by Mnet and Wake One. The boy group Enhypen was formed through Season 1 of this program, which aired in 2020.

The girl group formed through “I-LAND 2” will be managed by Wake One, the company that is managing “Boys Planet” group Zerobaseone, “Girls’ Planet 999” Kep1er, IZ*ONE’s Jo Yu-ri, singer-songwriters Roy Kim, Ha Hyun-sang, Davichi, etc.
