“I almost got sexually assaulted” Former girl group member A appears in court wearing black clothes

Former girl group member A, who was charged with making false accusations claiming “The agency’s CEO tried to sexually assault me”, denied the allegations in court

On Nov 6th, the first trial for A, a woman in her 20s who was indicted on charges of false accusations, took place at the Seoul Central District Court. A appeared in court wearing black clothes with yellow hair.

During the trial, A’s lawyer stated, “The expression ‘relationship under agreement’, which is the core part of the indictment, does not correspond to objective facts.“

When asked by the court “So, are you claiming that it is true that she was raped?“, A’s lawyer replied, “In fact, the defendant’s memory is somewhat inaccurate due to the medication and alcohol she was taking at the time when questioned by the police and prosecution. However, the essence of the claim is that it was not a consensual relationship.“

Furthermore, A’s lawyer requested a closed trial, stating, “Although this case is related to false accusations, it is also related to sexual assault, and there is concern that sensitive personal matters may be exposed during the trial.” The court said it would consider the request.

The next trial is scheduled for Nov 20th, where witness examinations involving the agency’s CEO, Mr. Park, will be conducted.

A had previously accused the agency’s CEO, Mr. Park, of attempting to sexually assault her in the company’s office in January, resulting in charges of false accusations.

The police had initially concluded that there was no evidence of wrongdoing by Mr. Park, leading to a decision not to prosecute. After A filed an objection, the prosecution re-examined the case but also concluded that there was no wrongdoing by the agency’s CEO, believing that A falsely accused him.

Meanwhile, A debuted as a girl group member in 2017 but left the group. She has been active as an internet broadcast BJ since last year.
