HYBE Reveals ADOR’s Team Leader Receiving Bribes Under Min Hee-jin’s Approval 

On May 10th, HYBE released their official stance regarding recent accusations, saying “We conducted the audit on ADOR’s team leader on the 9th according to the law with the consent of the auditee without force and following all the appropriate procedures”, denying the accusation in Min Hee-jin’s official statement announced earlier on the same day.

Regarding Min Hee-jin’s claim that HYBE’s audit staff followed the ADOR’s female team leader to her house late at night, after 10 p.m., to conduct the audit, the company explained, “During the audit process, the team leader admitted that she had received hundreds of millions of won in bribes from an outsourced company for several years with the approval of CEO Min Hee-jin. In addition, she expressed her intention to submit her own laptop, which she had left at home, to the company. Therefore, with her consent, only female employees from our company accompanied the ADOR team leader home to obtain the laptop”.

HYBE continued, “There is no practice in the company where a regular employee directly receives hundreds of millions of won in profits from advertisers. Transferring the amount of money supposed to be reflected as the company’s sales to someone else privately by the CEO over several years is obviously a violation of the law, not just a practice. Furthermore, Min Hee-jin has taken no follow-up actions, such as recovering the funds or punishing her employee for receiving illegal funds, despite being a CEO. Our company also plans to investigate and clarify where hundreds of millions of won in profits received by the ADOR team leader went into”.

HYBE then disclosed some of the conversations between CEO Min Hee-jin and ADOR executives that they had confirmed during the audit process.

HYBE said, “CEO Min Hee-jin knows very well that the team leader received such a large sum of money under her approval. When questioned by HYBE’s HR manager about this matter, CEO Min Hee-jin acted like there was no big deal with it even though she was fully aware of the seriousness of the matter. Later, she internally suggested stopping the team leader from receiving the bribe money using HYBE as an excuse. We deeply regret that CEO Min Hee-jin’s side issued a statement based on false information and once again attempted to deceive the public. This is a serious defamation of our company”. Also, HYBE added that they would proceed with civil and criminal actions against Min Hee-jin’s side, who disclosed the audit on the ADOR team leader to the public.
