HYBE once again asserts Kim Garam’s innocence in 1st response to her alleged victim’s statement on school violence

HYBE continues to deny Kim Garam’s school violence accusations. 

On May 19th, Source Music released an official statement in response to Kim Garam’s alleged victim’s statement, saying, “Today’s afternoon, law firm Daeryun released to the media their position on their client’s statement of alleged school bullying by LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam.”

Earlier on the same day, the law firm Daeryun announced the statement of the victim, who claimed to have been bullied by Kim Garam at school. The victim, who could not withstand the bullying, voluntarily transferred to another school, but four years later, she reportedly tried to make an extreme choice due to feelings of extreme anxiety and fear.

HYBE and Source Music once again asserted Kim Garam’s innocence, saying, “The controversy started with the spread of false information about a member who was about to make her debut. Judging that this act of spreading false information was malicious, the company immediately began legal action, and we are still proceeding with the procedure.” 

HYBE continued, “Even though Kim Garam was the target of a malicious attack behind anonymity online, the reason why we did not actively explain in detail was because many of those who were involved in what happened were in the first year of middle school, and they are still minors. We want to approach it cautiously.”

Regarding Daeryun’s announcement of the victim’s position, HYBE said, “We find it regretful that Daeryun unilaterally announced their position to a large number of media channels despite the fact that many minors are involved in the controversy related to Kim Garam, a member of LE SSERAFIM.”

HYBE stressed, “We will organize and announce our position as soon as possible since Daeryun has summarized and announced the events that actually occurred in 2018 to their advantage. We ask journalists to refrain from reporting based only on one side’s unilateral argument.”

“Hello, this is HYBE and Source Music.

Today’s afternoon (May 19th), law firm Daeryun released to the media their position on their client’s statement of alleged school bullying by LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam.

First of all, we find it regretful that Daeryun unilaterally announced their position to a large number of media channels despite the fact that many minors are involved in the controversy related to LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam. 

As Daeryun Law has compiled and published parts of the actual events in 2018 to their advantage, so we will compile and soon announce our position in a short time. Therefore, we ask for journalists to refrain from reporting based on such one-sided arguments.

Once again, the controversy first began with the spread of false information about a member who is about to debut. Judging that this act of spreading false information was malicious, we immediately took legal action, and we are still proceeding with this procedure.

Even though that member was the target of anonymous malicious attacks online, we didn’t actively explain what happened because those events happened when that member was in first grade of middle school, and people who are related are still minors.

However, the facts about the events that happened in 2018 are currently told through the position of only one side, so we will clarify our position as soon as we finish reviewing Daeryun’s claims.
