Hwang Jung Eum, who challenged villain acting for the first time in her life, changed her expressions completely (7 Escape)

Actress Hwang Jung Eum announced her return to the small screen 3 years after giving birth.

Her appearance in writer Kim Soon Ok’s new drama “7 Escape” was heralded.

The still cuts of SBS’ new Friday-Saturday drama “7 Escape”, which will premiere on September 15th, were released on August 29th.

“7 Escape” is a new work by writer Kim Soon Ok, who wrote the “Penthouse” series. It depicts the story of seven people involved in the case of a missing girl, who face huge events intertwined with many lies and desires.

It stars actors Um Ki Joon, Lee Joon, Lee Yu Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, Jo Jae Yoon and Hwang Jung Eum.

Hwang Jung Eum, who took a break due to childbirth after KBS 2TV’s drama “Men Are Men” (2020), will return to the small screen after 3 years and try to change her image.

Hwang Jung Eum is known to play the role of Geum Ra Hee, the CEO of a drama production company. She values money and success the most in her life and she will take any path to achieve that.

The still cuts showed her dressed up splendidly. Her arrogant eyes and intense charisma attracted attention.

As Hwang Jung Eum has usually played cheerful and bright characters, she is said to have put a lot of effort into taking on the role of a villain.

Regarding this time’s work, Hwang Jung Eum said, “(Geum Ra Hee) is very confident and reckless. So I thought I had to look tough. There were many different aspects compared to my previous roles.”

She shared, “This is the first time I’ve played such a weighty villain, so I put in a lot of effort. I carefully analyzed the script as well as focused on making actions, tone of voice and gestures to exude charisma.”

Regarding working with writer Kim Soon Ok through a drama, she explained, “I received a proposal, ‘Would you like to play a villain?’ I really wanted to try writer Kim Soon Ok’s work, so I decided to appear in ‘7 Escape’. There was no reason not to appear in a work with attractive characters and an interesting story. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with writer Kim Soon Ok.”

She also expressed her affection for the drama, “It’s a powerful work created by the production team’s tremendous passion and sweat.

SBS’ new Friday-Saturday drama “7 Escape” starring Hwang Jung Eum will premiere at 10 PM on September 15th following “The First Responders 2”, which is set to end on September 9th.
