Hwang Jung-eum Is Praised For Focusing On Her Work Amid Divorce Controversy
Hwang Jung-eum is preparing to return to the small screen despite being in a divorce lawsuit.
Y1 Entertainment, Hwang Jung-eum’s agency, announced on February 22nd that she is filing for divorce. However, the reason for the divorce has not been disclosed.
Hwang Jung-eum married Lee Young-don, a professional golfer and businessman, in 2016. She had a son in 2017, and filed for divorce mediation once in 2020. The two withdrew the mediation, reunited and held their second son in 2022. However, she announced that she was filing for divorce again.
In particular, the day before Hwang Jung-eum announced her official position, she drew attention by posting a number of weird photos, showing her husband’s face. While many fans suspected she has been hacked, her agency explained, “It was posted by Hwang Jung-eum,” so netizens raised suspicions that her husband may have been cheating based on the contents and photos in Hwang’s post. Hwang later received attention for her savage replies to malicious comments supporting her husband’s affair and telling her to forgive him.
Despite being in a complicated controversy, Hwang Jung-eum is focusing on her work. Hwang is continuing her filming schedule for SBS’ new Friday-Saturday drama “The Resurrection of the Seven.” Filming has been in progress since September last year, and Hwang Jung-eum was spotted attending the poster shooting schedule for “The Resurrection of the Seven” held somewhere in Seoul on February 22nd, the day the divorce lawsuit was announced.
