On May 26, the YouTube channel Hwang Bo Ra Boriety uploaded a video titled “Hwang Bo Ra’s Son With Attention Deficit Tendencies, Is The Problem Caused By 00!? | Real Parenting, Parenting Concerns, Infant Development Test.”

In the video, Hwang Bo Ra and her husband visited a developmental play counseling center to check their son Woo In’s play environment and daily habits. Hwang Bo Ra shared, “He turns two next week,” adding, “I think this is the stage where discipline is becoming necessary.”

She continued, “The biggest issue is that whenever we go out somewhere, he gets overly excited and starts whining,” before confessing, “He also cries so much when brushing his teeth and refuses to do it, so I’ve been really worried.”

Her husband, Cha Hyun Woo, also honestly shared his feelings about parenting. He said, “There are a lot of positive comments, but when we see negative comments, it naturally worries us as parents.”

The counseling specialist then carefully discussed Woo In’s usual behavior one by one. Hwang Bo Ra admitted that she was also concerned about his language development, saying, “I wondered if it’s because I haven’t read enough books to him.”

In response, the specialist explained, “Communication is more important than books when it comes to language development.” The expert added, “Woo In expresses what he wants very well, but he seems to struggle slightly with listening to others, recognizing situations, and stopping his actions accordingly.”

The counselor also advised, “If discipline feels difficult, you should look at playtime,” explaining that naturally building a relationship through play helps children develop the ability to listen and communicate better.

During the following play session, interactive games using blocks and dinosaur toys were introduced. The specialist emphasized, “The beginning of play is waiting for the child to make a choice,” adding, “If you verbally explain the child’s actions while playing, both vocabulary and social skills can develop together.”

While watching Woo In quickly shift his attention elsewhere during playtime, Hwang Bo Ra expressed concern, saying, “Most kids stay focused longer, but his attention span seems unusually short.”

However, the specialist reassured her by explaining, “It may simply be because he notices many things around him.” The expert continued, “He could be a child with strong attentional perception. Rather than focusing on one thing, he tends to notice everything around him.”

The session later moved on to observing Woo In’s eating habits. While eating, the toddler suddenly became fussy and eventually spat while throwing his spoon.

Looking flustered, Hwang Bo Ra commented, “Lately, he’s been spitting like this too.” However, the specialist calmly handled the situation by asking the child, “Woo In, are you done eating? Are you finished now?”

The expert then advised Hwang Bo Ra, “Before those behaviors appear, try asking questions first like, ‘Are you done eating?’ or ‘Do you want to get down?’ so you can confirm the child’s intentions beforehand.”

Toward the end of the consultation, the specialist firmly reassured the couple that Woo In was “not a child with developmental problems.” The expert explained, “He is within the normal developmental process,” adding, “If you continue practicing emotional regulation in situations like these, he can grow up very well.”

After the counseling session ended, Hwang Bo Ra expressed satisfaction, saying, “I learned so much about how to play with children.” She added, “I was honestly shocked that even simple block play could lead to so many different conversations while explaining situations.”

Meanwhile, Hwang Bo Ra married Kim Yong Gun’s son and Ha Jung Woo’s younger brother, Kim Young Hoon, better known as Cha Hyun Woo, in 2022. The couple welcomed their son last year. More recently, Hwang Bo Ra also revealed that she underwent IVF treatment while preparing for a second child, though she later spoke about experiencing side effects from the procedure.
