Actress Ko Yoon-jung made her screen debut through the movie “Hunt,” of which actor Lee Jung-jae is the director.
At the press preview of the movie “Hunt” held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 2 p.m. on July 27th, Ko said, “I watched the movie for the first time today, and I felt fortunate and honored to debut with the movie ‘Hunt.’ It was such a grateful time and result for me,” she said.
Ko Yoon-jung, who debuted in 2019, is an actress who has been receiving enthusiastic responses on online communities and SNS for her stable acting skills and extraordinary visuals. In “Hunt,” she plays the role of Cho Yoo-jung, a college student who is caught by agents of the Ministry of National Security and becomes involved in the event. “Two months before filming the movie, I read the script with the director and we talked a lot on the phone every other week. I got the chance to listen to a lot of his advice and practiced,” she said, explaining her efforts in building her character.
Director Lee Jung-jae said he enjoyed watching the drama in which Ko Yoon-jung starred. Recalling the time of the casting stage, he said, “I expressed my desire to meet Ko Yoon-jung during the casting stage through our production company then had a meeting. Seeing her come up with ideas after reading the scenario and my interpretation, I believed that she was a flexible actress”.
He then poured out compliments for Ko Yoon-jung, saying “As a rookie actress, she had enough desire to work hard and I really loved her attitude when she calmly reviewed the scenario and her character.”
“Hunt”, which was invited to the non-competitive Midnight Screening section at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, is an action drama in which Park Pyong-ho (Lee Jung-jae) and Kim Jung-do (Jung Woo-sung), who suspect each other and find the spy hidden in their organization, face a huge incident called “Korea’s No.1 assassination operation”. The movie will premiere on August 10th.
