In the livestream, Huang Zitao stole fans’ hearts as he held up a sanitary pad and passionately explained each step of its proper use. The K-pop idol-turned-entrepreneur even invited a female colleague to assist with demonstrations, showing just how dedicated he is to his new business venture.
Netizens were left stunned not only by his unfiltered sincerity but also his hands-on approach. “Although I didn’t manage to get the sample product this time, I’ll definitely support it when it’s officially launched. I trust Huang Zitao!” read one fan comment that quickly went viral.
What’s even more surprising is Huang Zitao’s business model. He didn’t just slap his name on a product, he purchased the entire production factory himself. Huang Zitao has overhauled the facility, installed surveillance cameras for transparent manufacturing, and plans to open the factory for public tours.
Together with his wife, singer Xu Yiyang, Huang Zitao personally leads the product quality control team, enforcing some of the strictest safety standards in the market. Footage from inside the factory even shows Huang Zitao monitoring each production step via live CCTV to reassure customers about hygiene and safety.
Huang Zitao is a former member of EXO. He is the son of the late Huang Zhongdong, who held assets worth approximately $3 billion USD, owning 4–5 large properties in Qingdao, China. In 1997, his father ranked 7th on the list of the wealthiest individuals in Qingdao. After his father’s passing in 2020, Huang Zitao inherited the entire fortune.
This unexpected career twist may be unconventional, but fans are all for it, praising Huang Zitao for using his platform to promote menstrual health and empower women with access to affordable products.
