2NE1 Sandara Park revealed her wealth level.
On July 13th, Sandara Park’s interview video was uploaded on the YouTube channel “1theK Originals”.
A post titled “How is Sandara Park so wealthy?” was uploaded on an online community.
The original poster wrote, “I was just reading the top 5 wealthiest female singers. It was IU, Lee Hyori, Sandara Park, BoA, Suzy in order. How is she so wealthy? Is she good at managing her finances?“
Sandara Park caused laughter by showing an angry look, “There was a lot of talk about this after we disbanded. People close to me also wondered how Dara gets her money to do so much shopping. I am… I almost got angry.“
She explained, “I didn’t work a lot locally but I did a lot of commercials overseas. I am quite popular in Southeast Asia and I got quite large Ad fees. I was consistently making good money and people looked down on me and all back then. I was a bit angry.”
She shocked everyone by saying, “I want to go shopping with the money I made. However, I failed to invest, totally.”
Regarding this, she said with an awkward smile, “Not a single investment. I don’t even save. I should now.“
Sandara Park is known for her wealth to the extent that she ranked third in the female idol wealth ranking. According to the Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post in 2021, Sandara Park ranked third in the “Female K-POP Star Wealth Ranking” after IU and Lee Hyori. She was followed by BoA, Suzy, Yoona (Girls’ Generation) and Lisa (BLACKPINK).
IU, who topped the list, owns US$31~45 million (about 36.3~52.7 billion won). Most of her income comes from song royalties. She is known to have written over 50 songs for her own albums as well as for other artists, dramas and films.
2NE1 Sandara Park, who ranked third, has continued her solo career since the group disbanded. She earned US$30 million (about 35.1 billion won) by working as an advertising model for various beauty brands as well as appearing in the movie “Cheese in the Trap” and the music movie “One Step”.
Regarding this, when appearing on KBS2’s “Problem Child in House”, which aired last year, Sandara Park explained, “There was an article that said I had 30 billion won. What makes me so upset is that I don’t have 30 billion won in reality. Thinking of it, I would have actually earned about 30 billion won. I think I could have purchased real estate if I hadn’t done shopping.”
