Hong Seok Cheon talks about his past relationship, “I taught my American boyfriend and helped him become an actor”

Hong Seok Cheon revealed that he used to help his boyfriend debut as an actor.

Hong Seok Cheon guested on SBS’s entertainment program “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2” broadcast on February 20th as a best friend of the new couple Park Gun – Han Young.

On the show, MC Seo Jang Hoon introduced, “Hong Seok Cheon is a leading instructor in moral education. I heard you trained your lover to make an acting debut”. Hong Seok Cheon responded, “I used to date an American man. His dream was to become an actor. However, he didn’t have the courage to challenge himself when opportunities came to him”.

He continued to explain the situation at that time, saying “A director I know wanted to find a foreign actor in Itaewon who can speak Korean well. The friend I was dating at that time was nice and good-looking, so I recommended him”.

Hong Seok Cheon added, “I gave him a hard training lesson for two nights and three days. I threatened him, ‘If you’re not going to the audition, then get out’, ‘Don’t even think of dating me’, etc. As a result, he came to the audition and got cast. He appeared in a drama. His life changed. But after becoming successful, he left me.”

Hong Seok Cheon debuted in 1995 after winning the 4th KBS Comedian Festival for colleague students. Since then, he has been active as a multi-talented entertainer in various fields, such as dramas and entertainment programs.
