Here’s why BTS Jimin is labeled “K-pop Frontman”, put together with Adele and Jay-Z by American media outlet

BTS Jimin received massive attention in the US and showed off his global popularity.

The U.S. daily USA TODAY reported on the 65th Grammy Awards and presented Jimin with legendary rapper Jay-Z and singer Adele, who won Best Pop Solo Performance Award for “Easy On Me” at the Grammys.

BTS is the first K-pop singer to be nominated for a Grammy for three consecutive years. They were nominated for Best Music Video, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Album of the Year awards this year, once again making history.

USA TODAY is published all over the United States and is the newspaper with the largest circulation in the country.

Jimin proved his global popularity by beating out Prince, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, etc. in the 2016 Time Magazine’s “Most Mentioned Singer on Twitter” ranking. The American media said of Jimin, ‘‘There is a word popular, but there is a concept of ‘popularity like Jimin”.

At the time of iHeart’s Radio “Jingle Ball”, the largest year-end music festival in the US in 2019, the photo wall local relay camera fixed Jimin’s solo shot for several seconds, while a reporter at the scene called “Jimin and the group” to reveal Jimin’s status as representing BTS.

Radio accounts in the US have continued to show love for Jimin. In particular, Jimin’s three solo songs (“Lie”, “Serendipity”, “Filter”) have sold more than 500,000 units, the first Korean soloist to be certified as RIAA gold.

According to the 2022 KOFICE Global Hallyu Trend Report recently published by the Korea International Cultural Exchange Agency, Jimin  is the only member of BTS to rank 5th in the singer category of the most loved Hallyu stars in the US. He is highly popular not only as part of BTS but also as an individual member.
