A doll resembling Halle Bailey, who plays the main character in Disney’s live-action film “The Little Mermaid”, has been released.
According to a report from the Daily Mail on March 6th (local time), Halle Bailey (22 years old) revealed a doll modeled after herself through her Instagram account.
Halle appears in the video wearing a bright pink jacket with feathers on her sleeves and says, “I have something really exciting to reveal to you all. I am gonna cry…”.
She then introduced the brand new Little Mermaid doll. The doll was modeled after her.
The doll, which has a blue bustier and a mermaid tail, shows striking features from her healthy, black skin to slightly wide cheekbones and a dot above her eyebrow.
Halle said, “This means so much to me. And to have my favorite Disney character that looks like me is very surreal”, expressing her excitement.
The actress couldn’t hide her joy, saying “I’m just stunned”.
The doll is expected to be available for sale soon.
Seeing the doll, fans showed enthusiastic responses, such as “I want to collect it,” “Where can I buy it?”, etc. Halle’s sister Chloe Bailey even commented, “I’m buying 100 of them!!!”.
Meanwhile, Disney’s live-action movie “The Little Mermaid” is scheduled to premiere on May 26th.
