“Gyeongseong Creature” Heavily Criticized, Dull Kiss Scene of Han So-hee and Park Seo-joon?

Recently, Part 2 of “Gyeongseong Creature Season 1” has been released, only to be heavily criticized due to falling below viewers’ expectations.

This came as a great shock, considering that Part 2 of “Gyeongseong Creature” was expected to become a masterpiece, opening the year 2024 for Korean television. As the drama featured A-list superstars Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee and a production budget of 70 billion won (approx 53 million USD), it attracted many expectations from the audience, only for the 1st season to fall flat and most viewers claiming that “Netflix has wasted money senselessly”.

On Naver, a series of negative comments streamed in after the release of Part 2 of “Gyeongseong Creature” Season 1, with some as below:

  • In Part 1, I was at least excited about the monster, but in Part 2, the only thing that seems to be remotely interesting is the 1-minute long kissing scene. But I mean, even that kissing scene is dull
  • I expected this type of series to be interesting, but it’s too boring
  • I had hoped Part 2 would be better as things finally started to kick up, but oh… it’s truly disappointing
  • Even with the 1-minute long kissing scene, I had to fast-forward and watch at 1.5x speed
  • The only thing I care about is the end credits song
  • I haven’t seen a series as boring as this one recently
  • It might be too early to make this assessment now, but I truly think this is the most boring K-drama of the year.

On the other hand, Part 2 of “Gyeongseong Creature” Season 1 continues the story of characters against the backdrop of the turbulent year 1945. At the end of this season, the leading characters’ relationship becomes stronger than ever, only to face a sad result in the ending.

However, in the very ending scene, the main female character, Chae-ok, seems to have been revived, opening up the story for Season 2. It is known that this season is set in 2024, and behind-the-scenes images also reveal the modern appearance of Han So-hee and Park Seo-joon.

Nevertheless, viewers do not have high expectations after the overwhelming disappointment recently.
