“Hyori’s Homestay 2” owner and part-timer did not forget the first guest

Jung Ye-rin defeated Kazakhstan’s Galiya Tynbayeva and won the bronze medal in the 52kg division of women’s judo at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games held at Xiaoshan Linpu Gymnasium, Hangzhou, China on Sep 24th.

Lee Hyori and Im Yoon-ah formed a connection with Jung Ye-rin about 5 years ago through JTBC’s variety show “Hyori’s Homestay 2”. Jung Ye-rin, who was studying at Yongin University at that time, applied to appear on the show with her judo teammates and was selected for the guest role.

Hyori’s Homestay

Lee Hyori was the homestay owner, and Im Yoon-ah was an employee. During their interactions, Lee Hyori and Im Yoon-ah asked Jung Ye-rin if she planned to become a national representative in the future. Jung Ye-rin answered affirmatively “Yes.” Im Yoon-ah expressed her pride, “I’ll brag about it later, saying I stayed at the homestay with them.

5 years later, Jung Ye-rin, who boldly declared her goal of becoming a national representative in front of Lee Hyori and Im Yoon-ah, participated in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and won a bronze medal, keeping her promise.

Im Yoon-ah and Lee Hyori did not forget Jung Ye-rin, either. Im Yoon-ah posted on her Instagram story, “Congratulations! You’re cool, Ye-rin.” Lee Hyori also posted a photo of Jung Ye-rin holding her bronze medal, saying, “Great job! Ye-rin.”

Meanwhile, “Hyori’s Homestay” received much love and achieved the highest viewership rating of 10.8%. Besides Im Yoon-ah, Park Bo-gum also appeared as a part-timer, drawing significant attention.
