“I posted a selfie and it’s on the front page of the newspaper” Goo Hye-sun Recalled Her Ulzzang Days+ “Boys Over Flowers” Behinds

Goo Hye-sun revealed the behind-the-scenes story of her debut in the entertainment industry.

Actress Goo Hye-sun appeared as a guest in the latest episode of TV Chosun’s “Huh Young Man’s Food Travel,” which aired on April 14th. In this episode, Goo accompanied Huh to visit restaurants in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do.

Huh mentioned Goo’s entry into the entertainment industry as one of the original top five ulzzang (good-looking people popular on the internet in the 2000s). Goo said, “The internet first became widely used when I was in middle school. My friends took and posted a photo of me, and all of a sudden, the photo was on the front page of the newspaper.” Goo Hye-sun then said, “What does it mean by ulzzang? Is it a super (zzang) big face (ul-gul)?” and Huh Young Man laughed, saying, “It means your face is super pretty.”

Huh also mentioned the time when Goo starred in “Boys Over Flowers,” a drama that was so popular that it had 32% ratings in 2009. “Wasn’t it amazing during “Boys Over Flowers”?” asked Huh. Goo answered, “My male (actors) friends were so popular that people gave me letters and gifts to pass it on to them,” making everyone laugh.
